About Our Sleep Studies

What is a Polysomnogram?
A polysomnogram is a continuous recording of selected body functions during sleep, including brain waves, eye movements and muscle tone.
Together, these body functions help determine whether you are in light sleep, deep sleep or rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.

Preparing for Your Sleep Study
A representative from LUNA Sleep Center will call you to ask some questions and give you information regarding your sleep study. You will receive information about your study’s location, parking, arrival time and what you should bring to your study.

Obtaining Your Results
Proper interpretation of your sleep study requires extensive data review. Approximately 900 pages of data are generated for analysis. A qualified sleep technologist will score your test data, and a designated LUNA Sleep Center physician with expertise in clinical sleep physiology will interpret the results.
